Rescheduled AIEEE

The All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE) 2011 is rescheduled from 24.04.2011 to 01 May 2011.

All India Candidates in Maharashtra Engg Colleges

Eligible candidates from Outside Maharashtra State (OMS) and seeking admission to Engineering Degree courses in Unaided Private Institutes should take the MHT-CET 2011 scheduled on 12th May 2011.

They will be admitted by the Engineering colleges directly under the Institute level quota.

Government of Maharashtra shall conduct a single combined “Common Entrance Test” MHT-CET-2011 for all Health Sciences, Engineering and

Pharmacy degree courses for the academic year 2011-2012. The said Common Entrance Test will be held on Thursday, 12th May 2011.

CAP: Dates Extended

The dates for submitting the application forms for admission to First Year BE in Maharashtra through Centralized Admissions Process (CAP) have been extended. The previous last date was 01 July 2010. The date has been extended to 06 th July 2010. The candidates will have to upload the information i.e. submit the form online, take a print out and submit the print out in ARC by 06 th July 2010.
There are around 290 colleges and 91,000 seats in First Year BE in Maharashtra to choose from.

New IITs

The government has established 8 new IITs.
The sites for six IITs are finalized.
Andhra Pradesh: Medak
Bihar: Bihta
Orrisa: Khurda
Madhya Pradesh: Indore
Punjab: Ropar
Himachal Pradesh: Mandi

For IIT at Rajasthan, State Government had proposed Kota as the possible location, however, this was not accepted by the Union Government.

The State government has identified the location for IIT, Gujrat. The proposal is still in pipeline.
A new engineering college located in Nagpur has advertised in local dailies.

The college has been permitted by AICTE and seeks candidates for admission to I BE in Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communications Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering and Electrical Engineering under Institute level quota.
Each branch will have an intake of 60.

Very little information is available on the website of the college at www.wbsnagpur.org. It shows the information about society that runs the college and the intake of each branch.
All other pages are "Under Construction".

No details are available regarding

CAP Autonomous Admissions Commence

The admissions to six autonomous institutions in Maharashtra starts on 29th July 2010. The candidates with merit numbers from 1 to 250 will be counselled in the morning session while those from 251 to 500 will be admitted in the afternoon session.
